Lloyd
You have been busy. All that talk about retirement, looks like you moved from one full time job to another. I assume this will work on the high definition screens like the Microsoft surface pro, including the printout information as I think you said. Certainly looks like game changing software for segmenters. With this and a wedgie sled all the mystery will be gone! See you in Boston.
Bob I didn't get a chance today to look at it but tomorrow I will for sure.Glenn, Here is what I came up with converting it to a 24 segment open segment vessel. I'm thinking this might be a little more manageable. The next set is going to round up the wood. If I don't blow it up on the lathe I post it here when I get it done. If ou like it give it a try
Bob thank you for posting your design. I like the proportions as well as the gentle shape with the slight flair at the top. The size is very close to what I had envisioned. The shape I would like to try is more of an ogee shape and a slightly bigger base. I attached a file as well but the basis is from the example that I downloaded from Lloyds examples. I may also go with closed segments if I can handle the tiny pieces for the rings. My sample trial has not been cut yet, hopefully today.Glenn, Here is what I came up with converting it to a 24 segment open segment vessel. I'm thinking this might be a little more manageable. You certainly want to, can't wait to try the new program out!Okay, who else tried to click and make a change on one of Lloyd's Southwest Design .jpgs?

Not trying to make a sales pitch in this thread, but it is a good time to let you know that I now have SegEasy plates for both 36 and 48 segment rings. In stock, I have th 9.25" diameter plates but have ordered 11.75" diameter plates that should be here soon. In my opinion, doing a project like this will be far simpler as an open segment project. In my work so far, l have found tha using Titebond Extend and no distractions will let you apply the glue to all 48 segments in a single process. However, there is no reason you can't apply glue to every other segment in one pass and the remainder of the segments after that.
Thanks Lloyd for that info. Titebond Extend seems like the right product but finding it in Canada is difficult, adding on the shipping fees makes it too expensive. Rocker or Woodcraft will not ship it across the border either. (Amazon.ca wants $61.04 plus $5.54 shipping for a 16oz bottle, that is what I am up against).
I also do not do a lot of open segmented work and find it difficult to justify spending the money on the plates. They seem like an awesome product with the stomper though. Maybe in the future.
