• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.
  • Due to a scam attack, the gallery is temporarily turned off. I am working to get this fixed but I have some other things that are higher prioriity. I do hope to have it back soon and there shouldn't be any changes to the content. At least, that is the hope.

Identify wood type

I'll keep that in mind, thank you for the offer. I will try my test rings with the Lepages that I have to see if I can do it before it sets.

Glenn my local Woodcraft about 30 miles away has Titebond Extend 16oz bottle at $7.99 us. I could send you some up USPS, if you would like
I talked to the local Franklin International rep a year or so ago and asked him about diluting Titebond Original or II with water and he said that it would not be a problem because the water would evaporate without changing the structure or holding power of the glue. He said that it would extend the set time of the glue but the set time would be variable based on the dilution as opposed to Titebond Extend which would have a standard set time.
I have not tried this myself, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be effective.

Lloyd & others: Those of us who do segmenting in OZ dilute Titebond Original & II with water in the summer when you have temp of 32-36C in your workshop without A/C. If you don't the glue dries up too fast to complete a ring.

Bob, do you have a specific proportion of glue to water that you use?

Hi Glenn, I only ever use a small amount of water. I keep the mixture like a thick soup consistency. I usually try to estimate how much glue I will need to say glue up 5 rings of 12/16 segments and then use an eye dropper to add some water. Not very scientific I know but depending on the temp. you get used working out how much water to use.
As time goes by while gluing up you will find the water evaporates and you just add a couple more drops of water.
You will need to experiment to suit your conditions. It works for me give it a try.
Cheers
Bob
