• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Unique Wedgie sled

Unless I'm missing something you would need a separate sled for each angle. You might just as well build an accurate sled and skip purchasing the wedgies.

This person may only want to make say 16 segment rings and therefor only needs one wedgie and one sled. Its a simple solution.

Bob, goes to show there are many ways to do the same thing. This person appears to have spent a fair amount of time making what works for him / her.

I m thinking of building a sled for my table saw. I presently use a 10" Makita Miter Saw but a sled seems to be a much faster method. I would not build a sled like this because of the restriction of the number of segments.
I have been searching the web for a good plan.
Is the basic SegEasy sled the way to go?
Does anyone have a suggestion?

I went the lazy way and purchased an Incra Miter express. It can be set up to do the segeasy method or the typical method of cutting segments.

There are a few members in the woodclub that have made the segeasy sled and have great success.

Chuck, what type of project will you be starting with? For closed segment work (depending on the number of pieces) the Segments Easy sled will work very well for you. A 30/60/90 triangle will work just fine to set it for 12 segments. I also made a few triangles for setting the sled. A bit of trial and error and some scrap to test it on.

This is the sled I am using now for a 72 piece open segment project. It is fixed at 2 degrees but can be reset to any angle by relocating the screws. The two clamps on the right are to do micro adjustments as described by Brent in the "Interwoven" Thread.

Hope that helps. A bit more info may help others comment.

The project in mind is a closed segment bowl. 22 rows, 24 segments per row, except for the base which will be a floating disc with 12 segments. I have never made an open segment bowl and do not see any in future.
I saw an old post in the "Jigs & Tools" section by "FisherNuts." He built his sled with two slots.
Seems like a good idea!

Chuck,
If your doing closed segment work, the segeasy is the only way to go. I've been doing segmented work for 10 years and used the one fence sleds everybody used all the time. They work but take some care to set up for each project. When Jerry Bennett came up with the segeasy sled it was duh, why didn't I think of that. I went with it immediately and never looked back. It's virtually foolproof and fast. I made some of my first wedges but later added some of the machined versions. If you watch Jerry's videos on his website, he demo's its versatility also.

Chuck based on your description I agree with Art as well. I do use the Set Easy sled but I do not have the wedges. If I lived in the USA I would order the Wedges tomorrow, unfortunately the Canadian dollar, the shipping, brokerage fees will almost double the price.

A lot of different ways to build a Wedgie Sled. I have two of Jerry's that I made for different size segments. I also made this modified one for larger segments. They all work extremely well. FWIW you don't need wedgies:
A large 30 degree triangle from Hobby Lobby will make a 12 segment ring.
A 45 degree triangle will make an 8.
