Hello Folks, I am new to the forum and reading comments about the woodturner pro software. I am up here In New England today waiting for a snow storm coming in tonight in Massachusetts in a little town called Maynard where I live. My name David Calson. What do new people think about the woodturner pro program as far helping them get started???
 
I'm not exactly new but Woodturning Pro and the other two programs have helped immensely. My suggestion is to download the trial program and give it a try. Kevin Neely's project in http://woodturnerpro.com/community/index.php?threads/610/ would be a good one to try. Lloyd has also posted several how to videos you might want to review.

Give it go, ask questions and above all have fun.

there are not many options as far as software for segment bowl turners. Bill Kandler (segmented planner) and L. Johnson WTP are the main ones. imo, WTP is the better of the two. Both will produce the cut list. Long time ago I downloaded both as they have a 30 day free trail. I ended up purchasing WTP.

Welcome David. I joined a number of months ago and can honestly say that the amount of support with this group is nothing short of amazing. I recently tackled Lloyds Eagle bowl and it was an experience all by itself but again the level of support was much appreciated. If you ask a question you will get great answers.

I suspect when you are done with the snow storm you will pass it on to us in Nova Scotia. Thanks for that :(
