• Having problems with video with Segment PRO on a new PC? You could be experiencing one (or both) of two problems. First, if you have an ultra high-resolution screen, the recommended settings might be higher than 1920 x 1080 with a scale factor of more than 100% and the user interfaces for all software written in c# will NOT be correct. Simply change the resolution and scaling to 1920 x 1080 and scale to 100%. Second, if you have a wonky Bowl View, you have an Intel Iris graphics solution and there are serious problems with it. Solution - go to the Drivers page at Intel's website and install their latest driver for your computer. This will fix it. Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html

Cutting segments for feature ring

I have a 20" long laminated strip with the diamond pattern.
My repeating unit says 2". I have 1/8" kerf in the option screen.
My Question is should i cut at the 2' mark and if
so, has the program calculated for the kerf if not, do i have add an extra 1/6 or 1/8 to the width of my chevron pattern in order to accommodate my saw kerf of 1/8".
Please advise as i have tried to get an answer in the forum section but could not find it.
Also what type of jig is most suitable for this application or do i have to use the laser method?
Thanks

- The repeating unit should be what your segment edge length is for the ring you are making.

- In cutting a laminate, one method I have done is to cut the segments into blocks. Using a center line through the diamond I would measure 1" to each side (SL=2"). Then I would use a setup similar to the attached incra sled example to miter the ends.

Here are a couple of threads you may be interested in.

At the 8:30 mark in the following tutorial, I show how to use the SW Design tool to make a diamond pattern.

Thank you very much. Your explanation was very clear which has cleared all my confusion about laminate pro.
I am using my seg. easy sledge and used your advise of using the center of the diamond as reference for cutting my seg width.
my segments are now perfect with the diamond pattern in the dead center of my seg
