Wood egg measures 6" high and comprises more than 2,000 segments of a wide variety of woods including maple, walnut, katalox, padauk, cherry and butternut. The top and bottom plate as well as the insert in the base were designed in Lamination Pro - a great too for designing these complex patterns. I only wish that the software would allow other thickesses of wood beyoond the standard fractional sizes since I custom cut many of my laminate strips to other dimensions fsuch as 0.002" , 0.050", 0.100" and 0.150" used in this egg.
