Can you paint individual segments in WP like you can in SP?

Short answer is yes. It is not quite as easy as it is in SP.

One hint that Lloyd has given in the past with WTP when painting segments make all the rings the same as the largest OD ring you have.
The cylinder is easier to select wood species to form the pattern. When done just do a stanp to profile. the profile is what you brought in from 3DDesign.
