Hi all. This Norwegian Flag Sierra Pen is a kind of segmented turning. The pen was made as a surprise to a second cousin of mine in Saskachewan in Canada. I asked Kallenshaan Woods if they could make me this laser cut pen blanks. They said Yes to that question, but I had to order 10 blanks. The segments is glued direcly on the tube with epoxy and set to cure overnight. After turning the blank is sealed with medium CA for to protect the Holly to be blooded with the blue and red wood under sanding. Sanded to 6K with MicroMesh and then given four layers of thin CA. sierra gold Norwegian Flag.jpg

    Hi Oeistein
Nice looking pen. Haven't seen or heard anything from you in quite a while. Hope you are ok and still turning. I still haven't used all the teak you sent me from the refit of the Stratsraad Lehmikuhl. I'm working on another batch of pens to be sent off to our Canadian military personnel. I'll likely use it up in that batch and request that those particular pens be given to some of our Navy members as I think they would appreciate it more than Army or Air Force. Keep well.
