• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

    Floating bottom for urn

I often use a floating bottom and then finish the top using a vacuum chuck. If you make the floating disk perfectly flat and the recess flat it will hold the full vacuum my pump will produce. I suspect this is good enough for dust (ash).

    Question about WTP

Jim is working one of my designs. It is my donut vase which I have made about 30 times so I know how it should work. I have done this demo both at AAW andd Segment Sympoia. He also asked me if I could seee an issue. I sent him my WRPro dims. I'm glad to see a resolution. While being exact to 3...

I just went to the app store for Apple and did a search for Microsoft. All the apps are there. I don't know where you are looking, but try again. Wayne

    Anyway to use a iPad

As of several months ago there is a full version of all the MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) available as free downloads from the ITunes Store. You can import files into them from the iTunes file sharing section. If you have Office 365 you can register your iPad (you get 5 device...

Need help to make thoughs "feathers" for a segmented vase

At my website www.pzturn.com go to the links tab. there is a pdf document describing how to make feature rings. Feathers/arrows are described there. Actually, that is about the easiest design to make. Also, I think it is in the first Malcolm Tibbetts book or dvd. Wayne

Lamination PRO Tutorials - Multi-Generation Laminations

Before you start building you should look on this Forum. there is a thread on multi-gen cutting. At Bodwell shows pictures of his clamping fixture which has some different features from how Lloyd does it. For me it works better. Either way will work just a matter of having a permanent setup or...

Digital Thin Rip Jig for Table Saw

The stock to be cut is placed between your fence and the roller bearing which is set to the desired cut width. After making the cut you move the fence to bring the stock up to the bearing again without moving the setup. Then make repetitive cuts as needed. Actually quite simple once you...

    Transition zig zag bowl

If you decide to use Inlace be very careful. It comes with a warning to use it in well ventilated areas. They really mean it. Whenever I use it now I mix it and keep the piece outside until it cures. I have multiple externally vented air cleaners in my shop but they cannot do much for the...

    Indian Blanket

I finally finished a turning using the "trial" Indian Blanket. It is made of Hard Maple and Bloodwood. It is 7.5" D. and 6" H. I decided to make the star top using the Kevin Neely method. As usual I learned a great deal. It looks pretty good but the next one will be better...

    Concentric rings

I have not found a way. When I design a "Keeper Ring" for a floating base I just decide upon an OD and an ID and make it as a separate 1 layer project. This might be tedious for what you want. Just curious, when you do this do you brick lay the rings, if not, you could just construct them from a...

    Will this work?

I have had a plan for a 3 tired unit for holding finger pastries. I once made a flat platter with a plug which literally blew up. Since then I have made all of my pieces with a floating bottom. I have since thought of several ways to make the middle but none of them seemed aesthetically...

    Transition zig zag bowl

I once had a cross grain turning self destruct. Ever since then I have not tried anything like this. Many people do this on a regular basis with no problem. Mesquite is so stable that you have chosen something favorable to a good result. I do like the way it looks. Wayne

Version 3 Lamination PRO Update - Southwest Design View.

Finished Ring For those of you who have been following this thread. I started out trying to make an Indian Blanket design. I made many mistakes along the way. I misunderstood the cut dimension, had some clamping issues, had an old version of the software which gave me a wrong calculation of...

    2nd generation saw cuts

Thanks Lloyd, I could not open Art's pictures yesterday before I wrote. Now I have opened them and see what he did. I had thought of that as well but I had the table and didn't want to take the time to build something. Wayne
