Nature can be a paradox...my heart knows that this tree was at it's most beautiful when alive and full of vigor, but the bones left in the firewood are stunning.

I agree. Nature does some wonderful stuff or turners to reveal.

imo, the bowl would be enhanced with an clear epoxy finish.

I'll be sure to post a final picture with the epoxy on. That's assuming I can successfully grind my way to the bottom of this very dry, combination of air and grain directions. lol
