• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

How to be more mobile

Hey guys. I'm relatively new here and I'm really starting to try to get moving on using these programs. I just finished my first project with very good results so I can say that I'm very impressed with the programs. With the help of everyone here I was able to get the info transferred to my iPad and that has helped me out a lot. But ideally would be to have a tablet that I could run all the programs on in full and get all the info without having to convert the information into a PDF so my iPad can read it. So out of all of that is there a tablet that can run the programs in full so I can design the bowls and get all the information and use the programs in full on a tablet instead of using a lap top. I would really like to have a set up where I can take something that is easy to handle and give it to a person and have them design the whole thing (with me there kind of knowing how to use the programs) and have everything that I need on it that I can take into the shop and work off it to do the project.
Sorry for the length and thank you for any information

Mark,
I have Lloyd's programs installed on a Windows computer in my house and I can access them wirelessly from an iPad from my shop in the backyard using the remote control program TeamViewer. In my case the iPad and the Windows computer are on the same home network but it would work through the internet also, as long as both computers were on line at the same time. There is a little bit of lag in response through the internet but it is still quite usable.

Do I only need to install team viewer on my iPad or how does this work. I'm really interested in this. I thank you for the help. Could you give me a little bit of a run down on how you make all this work. Computers aren exactly my friends

I kind of need to be able to run it on another tablet because where I work there is no internet connection so I need it to be run on the tablet and not over the internet

Mark,

Something like Team Viewer is likely to be your only solution. There just isn't any segmenting software available for iOS.

Team Viewer works great, though. You just have to create a free account and then download the app to your iPad from the app store. When you create your account, you'll receive an activation email. Go to your PC and click on that email and it will allow you to download a small application to your PC. One of the options is for you to grant access to another device (your iPad) by just entering a password. You will then see your PC screen on your iPad and you have full control of the PC.

This would be a problem if you don't have an internet connection, of course.

Mark,

It's really pretty easy. Go to www.teamviewer.com from your iPad and download and install the version of teamviewer for your iPad. Do the same thing from the Windows computer where the Woodturner Pro programs are installed. The teamviewer programs are free for personal (non-commercial) use. Once teamviewer is installed on both the Windows computer and iPad and both are on the same local network or have internet connections you can connect from the iPad to the Windows computer and run the WTP programs on it just as if you were using it directly.

During the teamviewer installation each computer will be assigned an automatically generated ID and password which you can use to make the connection. You do not need to know IP addresses, Etc. To make it even easier you can create a free account with teamviewer and give each computer a friendly name and password and associate them with that account. You can then connect without having to remember the ID or password. Be sure to explore the configuration options as there are many features you can customize.

I have used teamviewer program for several years and think it is outstanding. I have used it from an iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet, Windows and several varieties of linux. I have connected to as many as four computers at the same time and switch among them with a tabbed interface as in a browser.

I can thank you guys more for all the help. The problem I having now is that my home computer won't download the program from the team viewer website to my home computer because it says that the publisher of teamviewer_setup_en.exe couldn't be verified. What does this mean and is there any way around it. When I hit run the program just quits and nothing comes up and nothing opens. If there isn't is there any other program like this where I can control my home computer from my iPad

I'm guessing that you have Norton 360 installed, but it could be one of the other virus protection companies. That error is just a warning that they can't certify the publisher of the software but if you are sure that you are at the website of a vendor you trust, you can disable your virus protection program, download the software and then re-enable it.

There will be an icon for your virus software in the System Tray (bottom right - next to the time/date). Clicking on it will bring up a context menu that will let you disable/re-enable it.

Okay. I got team viewer to work but now when I launch team viewer I get what's on my home computer screen but the woodturner pro programs go away (all 3) and when I close out team viewer they come back onto my desktop. When I'm in team viewer the setup programs are there but the actual programs aren't avaliable. did I do something wrong or do I need to change something else

Mark,
You should have the WTP programs installed but not necessarily running on the Windows computer. Teamviewer should also be running minimized on this computer. Then Start Teamviewer on the iPad and connect to the Windows computer. You should then see the Windows screen display on the iPad. If so, you can then control the Windows computer from the iPad by dragging the cursor and clicking on the iPad screen. You can start the WTP program and do virtually everything you could from the Windows computer. Its not quite as convenient because you won't have the use of the keyboard or mouse. If you're still having trouble and want me to try to help send me a private message and we can exchange phone numbers and arrange a time for me to remote in to your Windows computer with teamviewer and help you get it configured to work.
