Hello from Green Bay, Wisconsin

Hi everyone!! I have about 6 months of experience over the last two years (only a winter hobby for me) so I am still relatively new to woodturning. So far most of my turnings have been solid wood bowls turned from green logs. I rough turn them one winter, set them aside to dry, and finish turn them the next winter. I have had some failures but many successful results too. This year I have decided that I will try some segmented projects which is what led me here. Lots of good information and ideas on this site and the forum will be helpful with any questions I have. I will post the results of my segmenting efforts when ready. You may find segmented bowl making is adictive. WTP suite of software makes the planning effort easy. I have found the software very easy to use and useful.

One big advantage of segmented bowls is using kiln dry woood. No need to wait a year to finish.

Your location says Michigan so you can relate to Wisconsin winters, especially if you are a yooper.
