• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

My name is les madden and is live in Sydney and I am a member of the southern Sydney wood turners club and I have been making segmented pieces for the last 16 years, I was first inspired by the work of ray allen and managed to successfully build a few bowls like rays, it was rather difficult to design them as I only had wagon wheel with 12 segments on it until I found out about wood turner pro software and suddenly those tasks of designing segmented bowls became so much easier ,for which I owe Lloyd a huge vote of thanks.
I am a 76year old retired electrician with 4 adult children and 11 grand children which gives me time to work on my hobby .
I must say that I am a wood turner and not a photographer so any of my work that I post won't be marvellous photography.

Hi, Les Madden. I am a member of Forest Hill Woodturners i Melbourne. I have been making segmented turnings since 1946. I was a patternmaker then. If you manage to make a nice piece, enter it into the Australian woodturning Exhibition. You must be better than me at something, as I have only two grandchildren. I bought a roller blind and use that to be the background for photos. It is fastened on the wall in the workshop & I just roll it down when I want to photograph anything. You don't have to be expert these days as the cameras make us all experts. Just don't use redgum for segments.

hi Cliff, I have not heard of the Australian wood turning exhibition, could you send me some info to my e mail address lesmadden1936@gmail.com so I can pass it on to our club members.

I have a slab of red gum I was saving for a special bowl, is it not any good in segments, I know it has lots of gum veins but otherwise it seems very stable, interested to know just what you have experienced with it
Regards, les

Hi, Les. Red Gum always moves. Even if it has been cut for 100 years, it still moves. So make that perfect bowl you have been thinking about- it will look good in red gum. But no lidded boxes or segmented work.
