Amber

This is a Nowegian style amber I turned quite a few years ago. Traditionally this container would have been constructed with unglued staves and wooden bands to keep it together. This one is turned from a solid piece of birch with faux bands and some decorative carving. Highly decorated ambers were often used to carry warm porridge to a new mother in the old days.
