• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Hello from San Antonio

I'm new to San Antonio, and to Woodturner Pro. I am a hobbyist who mangles more wood than he finishes, and have done so for many many years. I enjoy everything from furniture making to pen turning, and mostly make gifts for friends and family.

I am trying to get into segmented turning and inside-out turning. That is how I discovered this site and the associated software.

I am looking forward to picking up the collective wisdom of those here who have been there and done that!

Welcome to the community, Mark. I also like to do inside-out turnings and you might be interested in watching the video turorials I made on using SketchUp to see what one will look like virtually. Here is a link to the thread that is in the Software Tutorials category:

I'm coming to San Antonio in June to make a presentation at the Alamo Woodturners club on Thursday, June 27, followed by a two-day workshop on Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a workshop targeted to beginning segmenters and will cover a variety of subjects including design, software, open segments, close segments, staves, feature rings and multi-generation laminations. We're all going to make an open segment tornado bowl and while the glue dries on the next ring to be added, we'll cover the topics. I think it will be a lot of fun.

I hope you enjoy it here and I look forward to seeing examples of your work.
Lloyd
