Woodturner Pro Summary View Detailed display

I've used SP on a couple of projects and am now using WP for the first time. Is there a way to reduce the font in the Summary View Detailed so what is displayed is not all scrunched up (see attached)? I've tried exporting it to Excel, but it only transfers Standard view information, which leaves out the number of segment cuts for the various species used.Screenshot Summary View Detailed.png

Hi Kevin:
A couple of things you can do.
1) From the View drop down menu, uncheck Status Bar Dimension, Project Properties and Keyboard help
That will make more of the screen available for the summary sheet.

2) In WTP when there is a percentage menu just to the right of the "?". What is it showing as far as percentage?
Use the drop down percentage menu and reduce the percentage. You will see more of the summary sheet.

3) WTP has a limit of 5 species that can be shown in the summary sheet.

I suspect your problem is the percentage settings. There is not way to change the font style or size in wtp

this is a default view of WTP summary sheet

This is a view of WTP summary sheet after making changes to the View and reducing percentage to 100%

I tried both of your suggestions. All it does is change the overall size of the summary sheet. Sizes of the columns were not affected. I can still read it. I just have to pay close attention to it. I shall just write this off as a little quirk for the software.

New idea.
Adjust your font size in the windows program.
  • Here's how to change the size of text, images, and apps in Windows 10.
  • To change your display in Windows 10, select Start Windows logo Start button > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Ease of Access > Display. To make only the text on your screen larger, adjust the slider under Make text bigger. To make everything larger, including images and apps, choose an option from the drop-down menu under Make everything bigger.
Change display settings

your font and font size is different that what my pc produces. I am thinking it has something to do with settings in your Windows operating system.

Mike. Make everything bigger did the trick. Had to set it to 125%. Thanks for your help.

I think the problem is with the software itself, not a user setting issue. I have tried all the suggestions and nothing made the cut list table fill the work space in the program. However if I had the cut list displayed and then did export to CSV, after the file save dialog the cut list table appears full size with proper spacing until you click the mouse then it reverts to the scrunched version.

Screen resolution needs to be set at 100% and 1920x1080

Microsoft has created their own problem, I’m afraid. If you use their Visual Studio Development System to create apps, you have to create a field of a specific size and then specify the font and font size that looks appropriate at a scale of 100%. If the scale is increased, the font size increases but the size of the field does not. They now are developing new user interface technology that handles this but switching from my current solution would mean that I couldn’t use my 3D libraries. It would be the equivalent of swapping engines in your car.

I’m also a photographer and fully understand why and when you need super resolution. You simply need to determine the amount of time you use the computer for high res or low (is 1080P low?) res. To change to low res, you just select 1920x1080 and the text will not be fuzzy if you change the scale to 100%. When you’re done switch it back to the high res or vise verse. This should take about 15 seconds.

In the next release of Segment PRO, I‘ve changed the UI to floatable and dockable window panes. The current version does not make good use of screen space because I’m guessing that 15% of my users still have low res (768 vertical lines). I have to make sure that the entire UI is visible on both 768 and 1080. By allowing floating panes, the low res users can undock the pane and that frees up space of other panes. The new bowl view will be the height of the monitor.

The UI is mostly done but I’m working on other things that still need work. I’m currently building two websites for non-profits where I’m a board member and they are high priority. Once I’m done with them (shouldn’t be long), I’ll get back to programming. It isn’t that easy, though, with the new UI, I have to remake all of the video tutorials. I have learned that if ever someone watches a video tutorial that doesn’t match their screen, I get a support call.

I downgraded my display from 4k to HD (1920x1080) and it made the problem a little worse ie. the cut list occupied even less of the work space. I have a 50" 4K display and a highend graphics card I use with Adobe Lightroom. WTP is the only program that has this kind of display scaling problem. I have written software in Visual C and Python and never come across this problem. Seems you have investigated but hopefully the next release will solve the problem.

the 100% needs to be done in your windows settings for display not in WTP.

Change the 100% in WTP to a higher percentage to make the display larger
here is an example on my PC with the pc scale set at 50% and the second one is at 150% within WTP
