Hello to all.

I'm Chris, coming from Austria/Europe and i'm 47 years young. I hope my skills in english are good enough.

I'm turning wood since 2016 and discoverd segmented turning about one and a half year ago.

For me it is a good choice to create bigger thing without the difficults to get big pieces of wood and the possibility to create patterns with different species of wood :)

I found segmenting to be addictive. It opens up to a whole new area in design.

You will find that Lloyd's software really helps in the design process. WTP gives you full control. SP is rules based and limits on what you can do with each ring, but has an excellent paint feature for designs.

Ask your questions. That is a way we all learn.
