stupid question

I have built several items in the software but just started dabbling into feature rings this morning. My question is how do you change the species of the base wood? No matter what I do, it always sets the base to walnut? Am I just overlooking something?

Never mind. I figured it out. In case anyone else runs into the problem, you have to set the disk species in the palette area.
