Having trouble with Southwest segment length

There are many workable approaches to centering rings. Everyone has their favorite, usually obtained by trial and error. Use whatever works!
 
Any technique that aligns one layer to the previous layer is subject to cumulative error. The best way to do it is to align each layer to the 1st layer. A line laser set up with the line perpendicular to the axis of rotation allows you to do that.
