Selecting wood species for vertical spacers

I use Woodturner PRO.

I know how to select the wood species for vertical spacers, but I can't figure out how to change the wood choice of vertical spacers in selected rings only. If I change the wood choice, it changes it for all rings not just a selected ring. I am making a cherry and walnut salad bowl for a friend. I want walnut vertical spacers in the cherry rings and cherry vertical spacers in the walnut rings.

What am I missing?

Hi Mark:

WTP does not support multiple species for spacers. Neither does SP. One workaround is to make a new species which contains the wood spacer you want. By creating and using the new species you can paint individual segments in a ring or alternate between rings.

Varying species of vertical species in WTP

I'll start by saying I'm working on a mac, so if this doesn't happen in Windows... oh well. I would like to change the species of the vertical spacers on a couple of rows in my model, but when I change them, the change is global. Is it possible to vary the species of vertical spacers by row...

A simple graphic program like Irfanview (free) allows you to crop a jpeg.
