I've been doing segmented turning off and on for a few years and have been using Woodturner Pro and decided to get Segment Pro and give it try.

Welcome to the WTP forums. Glad you joined.
WTP is the old but good program. SP has a great paint feature.
As you know WTP gives you full control of each ring. SP is rules based and automates much of the design process. By doing so it limits what you can do with the rings.
Watch the videos Lloyd had prepared. They give a lot of great information.
