• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

how do i separate a box top in the software?

In WTP I just insert a ring type "blank space" between the top and the rest of the box.

    Gaps between rings

Having flat rings is important to ensure a good glue up, but the rings not only have to be flat, the two flat surfaces have to be parallel or else cumulative error could have you ending up with a glue up that curves. An example of this being done on purpose is one of Russ Braun's pieces...

    Themes in Segment Pro

I'm constantly finding new things to look at and use in Lloyd's fantastic software. In Segment Pro I've recently discovered there is a Themes tab on the top line, but I can't figure out what it does or how it would be used. Looked through the tutorials but didn't see any mention of themes...

We had a similar discussion regarding gluing and aligning segments back in Dec 2022 on the segmented turners forum. Scott Gordon's post (below) described the problem, and a solution. Scott's Post I use a homemade jig whereby I glue on a single segment at a time. I like this approach over the...

That's a pretty neat gluing fixture with the wire Tom. I'm curious as to what the maximum number of segments/ring you've glued up with it. I am guessing that the first picture is a top plate to keep everything flat.

When doing open segmented pieces, I use a Tom Lohman style gluing jig. For solid work, I use band clamps to glue up rings up to 48 segments/ring. Over 48 I use the gluing jig. For cutting segments I use a wedgie sled. I have two, one I made myself and one that was custom made for me by Pete...

    Line Laser

Changes I made to the sled: The hold downs. I have a bunch of t-nuts. I made some little blocks and attached the hold down to them. Then I drilled a through hole in the blocks to hold a bolt. I then drilled strategic holes for the t-nuts in the base with a recess for the head of the t-nut...

    Line Laser

Sorry for the late reply, but following is what I've come up with. Here is a pick of the original sled. You can see the laser at the top of the picture. Adjustment for horizontal alignment with the blade is accomplished with the slot in the mounting bracket. The problems I had with this sled...

    Line Laser

I'm just starting to get back to a multi gen glue up I started a couple of years ago. A move had me put the 1st generation aside. To answer your question, I built a jig years ago that had adjustable fences and a laser line attached to the jig that shone down the saw blade. It worked "kind...

Thought it was something like that. Thanks for the detailed explanation Lloyd.

    Adding species to Lamination Pro

I was having the same problem. I took my .jpg file and opened it in paint, then resaved it under a different name in the species folder. The new saved file showed up in my list of species. The old jpg file did not. Don't know why, but that is the fix I found.
