Plan on turning glued-up wood strips from boards 3/4 " thick by 1 1/2" wide by 12" long. To be mounted on the lathe and cutting rings at 45 degrees, for a 12" bowl. Will this 45-degree cut work with a thickness of 3/4" for this project?

Here is a vid from Tom Lohman on planning a bowl from a board. He cut the rings out on a scroll saw.
45degrees should work, imo.

Thanks, Tom Will be using the lathe to cut rings at a 45-degree angle. Have mfg. a tool rest for my parting tool to maintain an exact cut.
