Cutting Lamination Pro feature ring

I've tried looking thru the forums for my answer so please excuse me if this has already been asked and answered. This will be my first feature ring so I am a complete absolute newbie who needs clear exact directions.
I created a diamond ring feature using 5 strips. I printed out the instructions and glued up the lamination. 3/4 Cherry, 3/8 Walnut, 1/2 Maple, 3/8 Walnut, 3/4 Cherry. Total Board Width 2-3/4. The glue up are stacked one on top of another, when you turn them on one side you see the strips. So, the instructions says to cut them in 1" strips at 35 degrees. I'm assuming here that I cut them with the strips facing up. But the instructions for me seem vague or I just don't comprehend them. After I cut 1' strips, the flip, then it doesn't say to re-glue them up but I know that's what I should do, then what is cut horizontally and sling top and bottom, am I cutting the reglue exactly down the center? When do you cut the edges to be flat and not jagged?

Also, when I reopen the file in Lamination Pro it doesn't keep the red outline in the same place and originally it says board width 2-3/4 and on reopen it's blank on screen but when you print it does show 2-3/4"

A couple of things.
- What is your segment edge length for your featured ring? The reason I ask is in in LP you want to make the "repeating unit" as close to the sel fo the ring you are wanting to make. In your attachment you have a repeating unit of 2" so that is the SEL for the ring you would make.

You can change the repeating unit size by changing the cut width (first).

About the 8 minute mark starts an explanation of how to make a diamond.

Yes, The SEL is 2" for my ring. I didn't want to change anything, just don't understand the brief 3 line instructions on the printout.

Line 3 is saying to cut the laminated board down the center strip to create two halves.
and slide the top half over to form the diamond. It is explained at the 9 min mark of the vid I linked.

Make sure you wat that tutorial tha Mike suggested because it should answer any question you have on this subject. You can make diamonds by cutting a chevron board through the middle and sliding the top over the bottom but you won’t have any ability to resize the diamond and you will always have a hard time making a diamond fit correctly. Using the SW tool set to 0 strips lets you resize the diamond by changing the width of the blue strip (the strip you will be removing from the center of the bowl.

In the simplest terms - it is like cutting the chevron board through the middle by making two identical cuts - set the fence and run the chevron board through the blade once and then flip it around and do it from the other side. The SW tool simply shows you were to set the fence so that your two cuts remove the right amount from the center.
