Species not in Summery

I've created a plan for an open segment bowl using Maple (base and "main species"), padauk, and mahogany,
When I bring the summary to get my cut list, it shows only Maple and Padauk. The mahogany segments are added to the maple count.

any ideas why this would happen?

Did by any chance did you change the number of segments after painting your design? If you did it throws of the summary table.

If you didn't change the segments it would be helpful if you would expert the json file and attach it for us to take a look at it.
Share/Export. the created json file should be in your document/my segment pro folder.

I have not changed the number of segments (24/row)
I did change the thickness of the segments, but painted after changing.
attached is the json file

Thanks, I will take a look.
the changing of number of segments is one of the things that can throw off the summary.

As it turns out, NONE of the counts are correct.
I went to hand calculate the counts and found all of the rings had incorrect information. not sure why

It is the ONLY thing that can (and does) make the summary incorrect. Perhaps you didn't intend to but at some point the number of rows decreased and then increased or the number of segments decreased and then increased. Either of these create Zombie segments and the software keeps track of them (by design) so that if you reduce the number of segments and then change your mind and increase them again you won't have to repainte them. This was a good idea with a nasty side-effect. You didn't have to repaint the added-back segments but the Summary had no way of dealing with the zombies and so the counts were wrong. The fix to this with the version of SegPro you have is simple. Go to Paint, click Reset Segments and repaint. The Summary will be correct again.

I have good (and bad) news for you. The New Turbo Segment PRO is officially NO ZOMBIE TERRITORY. If you have a painted segment bowl of 48 segments and reduce it to 24, the software deletes all zombie segments of 25 or more. And if you increase the thickness of rows so that 30 rows becomes 20 rows, the zombie segments on row 21 or more are deleted. If you add back the segments or decrease the row thickness which increases the number of rows, they will need to be repainted. That's the bad news.

The great news is that the Summary will be correct 100% of the time and you can sleep well knowing that there are no zombies.

We're in beta testing of Turbo SegPro and I'll be showing it at SWAT (Southwest Area Turners) in Waco, TX in three weeks. It's a major rewrite and so will take significant beta testing. You won't lose any Plans you made with Legacy SegPro.

Oh, and by the way, it is a free upgrade to all current SegPro users. There won't ever be a subscription model. And the price of each piece of software has never increased (25 years and counting). There are NO ZOMBIES and NO INFLATION at Woodturner PRO. Please list the names of other companies that have made this commitment to you.

I'm waiting.
:->

I will be sending out a newsletter to announce the General Release. I will also be asking for more beta testers after Waco because there are just too many changes to do a general release to thousands of users.

Thank you Lioyd....
Zombies have kept me awake at night since the 1st time I saw Dawn of the Dead.

Glad to know there is a reason for it.

I assume the measurements on the rows are correct (segment length). And look forward to the new version.

When I use SP, once I set the number of segments and segment thickness, I do not change those parameters on the painting begins.

If you have WTP, you can change the thickness of the rings without messing up the summary table.
If you add rings once a pattern is painted in WTP, the pattern may get messed up depending where you add the ring but the summary table stays correct.

The difference in the older WTP program is you have control of each ring. SP automates some of the tasks you have to do in WTP.

It makes sense what Lloyd posted. If you change the number of segments the software does not know how to keep the pattern.
If you increase/decrease the ring thickness, , SP will adjust the number of rings needed to make the vessel the height you wanted.

The SEL (segment edge length) should be correct.
