First try at open segment turning and it is not going well

I am using segment pro for the first time and the numbers just don't seem right and I need to know what I am doing wrong. I have attached the profile view, bowl view, summary, etc. I was looking at ring 2 and the board width is 1.8 with an Segment Edge Length of .2132 and an angle of 11degrees. It's just not possible. Any ideas on where I went wrong?

Hi, Lindoturns
What would be helpful to find out the issue is for you to post the json file of your project in SP.

- Pull up your project in SP
- Go to Share / export
SP will create a json file that you can attach to a post. It can be found in your Documents/My Segment Pro.
By posting the json file, it can be imported into another uses SP to look at the settings.

- did you draw the profile yourself or use one from the profile list in SP?
- did you make any changes to the number of segments after you painted the pattern?

I recreated your project in WTP based on the summary sheet. WTP has ring 3 and 5 not supported based on the Outside/Inside diameter from the SP summary sheet. The SEL also do not match what your SP is showing. That is one of the reasons I would like to have the SP json file to take a look at.

Hi Lindoturns

From the info you provided in your original post I recreated your vessel in SP the best I could. I took a screen shot of the profile and brought it into SP. The outside dimensions are close to what your bowl was. the SEL seem correct to me.

You can save the attached file to your hard drive. Just remember where you saved it and in SP do a Share / Import. It should show up in your plan folder.

I do not know what messed up with your first attempt. I would suggest clearing everything and start over.

You have specified a 1" spacer likely by mistake because the 8 degree gap is what make the space between the segments. Change the spacer to zero and all will be well. You had me puzzled as well so thanks for posting the screen captures. When I get the time, I'll disable the spacer control if you are making an open segment vessel.
