I've been turning for a while and am pretty much self-taught. I've done hundreds (at least) of pens, pencils, handles, and other small projects. I've made many bowls, platters, and other projects of many shapes and sizes, and a few segmented projects, open and closed. I understand the process but hated the math. I often tell people that "I can't draw a straight line with a ruler" which makes the design process a little difficult... I am brand new to Woodturner Pro, with one design done and the project turned. I'm really enjoying the software.

I do have a question. When designing a bowl from scratch in Segment Pro is there a way to add and delete points to modify the shape of the image?
Do you have to open an existing profile, or plan and modify it to make the design you want?

Can't wait to really dig in and start designing without the math!!

Simple answer to SP adding nodes is No. If you want to have more or less nodes after drawing the profile in SP you would need to clear and start over.

You can in using 3DDesign Pro and WTP.

Welcome to WTP forums
and happy turning.

Little history:
WTP is the oldest of Lloyds software and the most powerful. It gives you control of each ring. It works with 3DDP.

SP was Lloyds latest. It automated some of the basic work / design in building a vessel. Hence it is rules based and limits what you can do with each ring.
