• I'm pleased to announce the release of Turbo Segment PRO, a major upgrade to Segment PRO. It's been a very big effort but I'm pleased to tell you that this is a FREE UPGRADE to all current users of Legacy Segment PRO. There are all new video tutorials and they are in the same place as they were: Video Tutorials > Software > Turbo Segment PRO. There you will find an Introduction tutorial that will tell you about its substantial new features. To install Turbo, just go to the Downloads page of the website and click on the Turbo Installer which will upgrade Legacy to Turbo.

There is a very interesting paper by a mathematics professor on cutting boards. You can download the paper here:
https://www.mathstat.dal.ca/~tkolokol/papers/board.pdf. It does require a background in college math.

However, it is not with the paper that I need help. The paper contains a link (at the bottom of last page) to another page where the professor has some java applets. When I click on the applets nothing happens. Either the applets are not functioning, or my system is not the right one. I'm using Win11, with firefox, edge. and chrome. The link is: https://www.mathstat.dal.ca/~tkolokol/board/

I'm asking for you to try it to see if they work. I have sent an email inquiry to the professor but I have not received a reply.
Thanks for your attention

Does this help? I haven’t tried it.
Mike, well, I got as far as installing JDK. The rest is too confusing for me. I'm not an experienced (or even inexperienced ) programmer. Maybe someone who can extract the code could rewrite the applets. Anyway, I appreciate you looking into this matter for me.

I have windows 11 and generally use Edge as my browser. I have checked to make sure Edge would run JavaScript. I cannot get the program to run.
imo, the University needs to have better instructions on how to run and use the java program.

I received a response from the professor. He has fixed the problem; the applets work fine now. I am truly amazed at the number of designs that can be generated. I cannot figure out applet #3 Fractal generator. The building block seems to be 3 squares of the same color. Anyone that has an insight into this please explain.
