Spacers

In SP, why can I see my vertical spacers in feature Ring view, but not in painted segment view?
Also where do I change spacer specie at? I managed to get there once before but can't remember how I got there.
And how critical is it to get spacer grain orientation direction the same as the rest of the segments. I'm in Missouri, so humidity is brutal at times.
Thank you in advance.

That is just the way the SP program is written. Spacers will not show in tornado bowl or painted bowl.
Remember SP is doing more of the work for you in design compared to WTP. It is following some programing rules.

Within your selected pallete, change the species in the number four column
Species 1 is default species for the bowl
Species 2 is for the base
Species 4 is spacers
Species 10 is featured ring

Have to make the change in the pallete from the upper menu.

imo, it depends a lot on how wide you are making the spacers. I would tend to keep grain orientation consistent when possible.

Segment PRO allows you to make standard segmented bowls only. Adding spacers to paintedvsegment or tornado bowls is certainly not standard.

You can do it in Woodturner PRO, though. However, i encourage you to go in a different direction as i dont think you will like the results of a painted segment bowl with vertical spacers.

Thank you very much for the information!
