This is made from Hard Maple and Padauk, 8.75" tall and 8.25" wide. Finish is WOP.
Started segmenting about 7-8 months ago.

Great combination of wood. How did you keep the Padauk dust out of the pores of the Maple? That's one of the hardest things with those two woods and you nailed it!
 
Thank you Frank, you’re right about the orange dust getting smeared into pores. I use a tack rag when sanding every time I change grits. I also sand in both directions when still mounted on the lathe.
 
Hello Glenn, sorry, WOP is wipe on poly. I use minwax brand and apply it with a cotton rag (old tee shirt) 2 to 4 coats is plenty. I apply it with the bowl still on the lathe, spinning as slow as I can (120 rpm)
