• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Segment Pro question

Is there a way to overlay the desired profile we enter in the upper left panel onto the resulting segments profile in the lower left panel so I can see any tight spots?

As far as I know the answer is no.
You can make changes to the wall width in the center bottom panel.

I use the dots that are used to create the wall profile to create a Bezier curve and the I use a much more complex algorithm to create a second Bezier curve for the inside wall profile. It is possible that I can add the curves to the Cutaway View in the lower left corner and I will add it to my list of enhancements. It's a long list, though, and can't promise when I can get it done. I have the national AAW symposium in Portland in June where I'm taking an active role since I live in Portland and am doing the marketing for the Segmented Symposium in October in St. Louis so my programming time this year is going to be limited, I'm afraid.

Would it be EASY to just overlay the dots we enter on the cutaway? If it took any significant work, that work would be better invested other ways.

As a retired programmer, I'm well aware of how the 'to-do' list always grows faster than the 'done' list. Life has a way of intruding on our quiet time with a keyboard, doesn't it?

I happen to have WTP suite and SP. For a few of my projects I have designed a bowl in SP. (I really like the paint feature). I will do a PrtScn to capture the profile, cut away and bowl. Using a graphic program like Irfan it is easy to crop out the profile and save as a jpeg. The next step is to start up 3Ddesign and bring in the profile image and trace the profile. It the profile can be imported into WTP. I can then make adjustments to ring thickness, Outside / Inside diameter, etc. to create the final cut list. ( I tend to overbuild in ring width. Gives me some room for errors).

Once I got the hand of it, it does not take that long to create a bowl. I have also found using SP paint feature is easy to duplicate in WTP. I use the ring view in WTP and paint/change the species to create the pattern.

LLoyd has created some wonderful programs. The trick for me is learning how to exchange data between WTP and SP to design the project I want to build.
