But you made this with a laser engraving or how you got this form? because I'm trying to make the same star on my ring and.. it's not that easy :( Need your advice. Want to prepare a cool gift for my gf
 
I used my weggie sled and adjustable stop block to make stars and tumbling block designs. Set your stop block using the width of wood being used. Next set the top fence of your sled using a 30-60-90 drafting triangle to 60 degrees. Cut your six pieces and glue them together. I use rubber bands for clamping. Make sure to clean the glue squeeze out so your surrounding wood will fit. I then trace the star outline on the wood being used to surround the star. I cut the surround wood leaving the line and sand to the line. After gluing in the surround piece I repeat for each point.

Just got back from spending the winter in Florida. It will take me a couple of days to unpack my shop and get things setup. I will post setup picks next week.
