• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

    Blade tilt in Segment Pro??

That is correct. Segment PRO can make ‘standard’ segmented bowls only. Since it does all of the work having it make painted segment, feature ring and tornado bowls is all of the permutations I can manage in the code. It’s easy to program in Woodturner PRO, because it is just another ring type...

    Paint screen

There will be in the next release. There’s still a lot of work I have to finish first and I have to redo ALL of the video tutorials because it is so different. You’ll have to be patient, but you will like the results. AND, you get it all for free. :->

    Editing Profile Points

3D Design Pro lets you delete points but Segment PRO does not. If you click the Clear button above the profile in Segment PRO, it will delete the profile but will keep all of the adornments you have made. As soon as you draw a new profile, the bowl will be just as it was before. If you click...

Wood species does not show up in summary

Another thing that would confuse the software (it shouldn’t, of course) is that the bottom dot of your profile is at 0. As stated earlier, that dot needs to be at the radius you want the bottom disk to be so the software would be confused. I never tested for this because, well, I never thought...

Wood species does not show up in summary

I still have the same question - if you reset the segments and repaint, is the Summary correct? My guess is that it will be. Something happened to confuse the software and repainting it will fix it. The only thing that I know causes this is changing the number of segments. I’ve already fixed...

Wood species does not show up in summary

Your bottom dot should be close to the bottom line at the diameter that you want the bottom disk to be. I don't see how this could cause the species count problem, but it is a problem, nonetheless.

Wood species does not show up in summary

I think this has to do with changing the number of segments at some point. If you reset the segments to default and then repaint, the Summary will be correct again. Lloyd

The other thing to consider is using Woodturner PRO. Yes, it is slower and both programs use the exact same formulas. There is a difference, though - in Segment PRO, you don’t specify diameters. The software looks at the elevation of the top or bottom of each ring, whichever is larger and then...

I like your device and would like to build one like it myself. I’ll cite you as the inspiration, of course. I don’t see any difference between your device and a SegEasy plate. As long as the angle is 5.5 degrees, the SEL will make the segment stop at the diameter calculated by Segment PROand...

It’s not a precision instrument but it doesn’t need to be, You need to position yourself above the centered rings and then after applying the glue, you need to rotate the top disk so that four joints in four opposite sides are in alignment. When they are, apply the weight and walk away. The...

Let me start by saying that I do not use indexing wheels with open segments so I do not profess any expertise with this technique. However, If you are using an index wheel with 24 divisions, that would assume that you are using closed segments and the angle for cutting those segments is 7.5...

That’s true, Mike, but I think Tom was asking a different question.. If I answered the wrong question, it won’t be the first time. ;->
