Software Overview - 3D Design Pro Version 2.1.0.0

3D Design PRO is a graphical curve editor designed specifically for woodturners. You can draw and edit 2D curves and in realtime see a 3D shaded preview of the vessel. You can rotate, zoom in and zoom out the 3D image to view it from different perspectives.

It couldn't be more simple. Just use the pencil to add curve points to the 2D Edit Window that represent the wall profile. Continue adding points until you have created an enclose spline (half of the profile of the vessel). Once you have placed points on the 2D Edit Window , you can move a single point, multiple points or all points and immediately see the results in the 3D Preview Window. You can delete points or insert new points anywhere along the spline.

You can customize the image in the 3D Preview Window. Change the color of the vessel. Change the color of the background. Change the color and position of the lights. You can even change the smoothness of the rendered vessel.

To help you get started with designing 3D Vessels, we have created over 100 drawings for 3D Design PRO. They have been organized in categories including: Boxes, candlesticks, closed forms, goblets, hollow forms, open forms, peppermills, platters, urns and vases.

The best news is that they are installed at no charge! It's our way of saying thanks for taking a look at the software. A directory named '3D Vessels' will be created automatically in your 'My Documents' folder and will contain sub-directories for the various categories of samples. Simply open 3D Design PRO and the use the normal File | Open method to browse to these directories.

The software has been designed to run on any Windows operating system that is Windows 95 or newer.
