Although this video tutorial is primarily a Woodturner PRO tutorial, Part 1 shows how to use a 3rd party graphic design program to create images that can be used to create custom species in Woodturner PRO.
SketchUp is the program I selected for the design work, but it could have been Microsoft Paint, Photoshop Elements, any of the Macintosh graphical editors, or dozens of other programs. This video shows how to create a spiral pattern using the Stacked Wood process whereby individual pieces of wood are glued or 'stacked' to create a design.
