Arlin this was a solid Oak bowl that I turned and it warped very badly so I then cut it up into segments and produced this bowl so I dont really know the angle of the stays. Hope this is of some help to you

I could use any and all help and advise on making a board vase. My email is Papaaeastman@gmail.com. Pictures and good explanation really helps me and the vets a lot. Besides the broken body I also have brain damage from the bombing in the middle east so it takes awhile for things to sink in and like I said pictures or play by play or even video are a great help.

Thanks buddy

Hello Arlin. I will review my thread over the next few days and see if there is anything else I could add. I know I do not have any video. If there are specific questions you have please don't hesitate to ask. I also just got home from spending a week in the hospital and will still be under treatment for the next few weeks for an abscess in the lower bowel. Glenn
Hi Bob.
Things are still shut down in SCW. The Rec Center is staring to ask clubs how they would reopen if given permission to do so. The Rec Center has said that the reopening would start with the outside activities. We have avoided the virus so far. Feb. sound good to meet.
Hi Mike, any better down there? We are back home in Wisconsin and through our quarantine period. I hope all is well down there. We'll have to hook up in Feb. when we come back down. If we are all alive!!
New to woodturner. Of the 4 apps, what is the order that you would use to build a turning? I will start with the tutorials then in order.

Hi Ronald
Lamination Pro is an app for building designs for featured rings or bottoms. It is not necessary to build a turning.
That said. In using WTP you should use 3D design first to come up with a profile. Then import to WTP to build your vessel and cut list. WTP gives the most control of the rings compared to SP.

Hello from the Antipodes, I'm an old but experienced fogie looking forward to trying a new way to design and make segmented vessels.
Hi, Mike, I'm down in Mesa, AZ for the month of Feb. Wondering where you get most of your wood? Where are you in AZ??

Hi Bob: I am on the other side of the valley in Sun City West. Most of my wood is purchased from three sources.
- The Woodclub in SCW (not open to non members)
- Woodworkers source. They have one in Tempe (645 W Elliot Rd, Tempe, AZ 85284. I use the one in Phoenix (18115 N. Black Canyon Hwy)
- Apple Blossom Woodworks
- last, from tree trimmers in SCW. Can get mesquite, olive, palo verde, acacia.)
I am new to woodturning. I became a Pro Member, purchased the software, Stomper Deluxe and one easy plate..
How do you change the default setting for a design ring? I thing the default in segment pro is 16.

Hi Gary: First welcome to WTP forums. I would suggest you post your question in the Sofware Support / Segment Pro section rather here in your profile page. The defaults are preset depending on the level (Novice, Intermediate, Advance) You can change the Segment number in the Bowl Setting window. Just remember to save your plan when done.
Hi Mark.
Welcome to the WTP forums. Glad to see another Arizona member. You are not to far from where I live. I am in Sun City West. Great woodshop and other facilities.
Kenny

If you are ever out this way I sure would love to meet you. I have not driven a vehicle since I was in the bombing in the middle east in 2008. Let me know and I will give you my wife's cell phone or my email.

Hello, I have Segment Pro & Woodturner Pro. Can I use either program for measurements when making board bowls? Thanks for your help.

Hi Woodsmith:
- You may get more responses if you start a thread rather than ask questions in your profile post area.
- To answer your question currently WTP or SP is not set up to calculate a bowl from a board as I believe you would like it to do.
