• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

New Summary View - Beta

Would you believe that the number 3 key is missing from my keyboard?
I didn't think so.
I was hoping nobody would notice that but this DataGrid has kicked my not-so-little fanny and I don't need any bad luck.

Just a little more work and I'll have it. Right now, the columns are variably spaced based on the content of the column. By explicity specifying the column width, it will absolutely fit. Fortunately, A4 paper is a little wider so it will be less of an issue across the pond. Which reminds me - I need to add metric support to the new Length columns.

Reworked the file that was not showing species in the summary.
Loaded that file, reset the segments in paint.
Repainted the bowl and is showing all the species now

I knew that would work, but I'm puzzled as to why it wasn't working.

What do you think about the readability of both the online and printed grids?

First the file was built in a way earlier version, and I remember it was back when there were problems with changing the repeat and repainting. Most likely the problem.

The on line summary looks great. You probably have room to stretch it a little to fill the window a little more

The had copy print out also looks great like the font easy to read

You know I went thru all the rest of my designs and that was the only one that had a problem with the summary.

Unfortunately, the column width is for both the online and print grids so I can't expand one without expanding the other. I've asked the Telerik forum for help and hopefully they'll have some ideas for me.

Looks good to me. As far as moving the species length to the end, they would need a header with the species. The way you have it now it looks good.

Looks much better, prints on one sheet, you have been busy. I still have the question mentioned previously of the lengths being about 20% less than the original and what I generate on my spreadsheet. Keep working on the bottom line totals.

I'm still getting spill over to a second page, the far right side board line wants to go to page two

The formulas I'm calling haven't been touched, but it is entirely possible that I'm passing different parameters to it and I'll check it out. I've been taking a college trig class and now that I'm more smarter than I was, I'll double check the results. Right now I'm just trying to get it to all fit on the page.

The cost of the software is $79 but that's my horseshoe price. If I have to guarantee that the numbers are correct, I'm going to have to charge a lot more.

I've uploaded a new version that prints on one page on my printer but would like to hear from others to make sure it fits on yours as well (margins differ from printer to printer).

Now that Art is being such a stickler for accuracy, I'll go and see if my numbers are fake numbers. Sheesh. Some people just think they're entitled to accurate numbers.

Latest (and hopefully last) beta build:

It pains me to say this, but Art was right.

As a result of the changes I made to the Summary View, I had two fields that were wrong - the Board Width and the Board Length. Fortunately, neither of these would affect the construction of a bowl, but they were wrong nonetheless. I have corrected these errors and as you can see, Segment PRO and Woodturner PRO calculations are now in agreement. The diameters in the two programs were rounded, hence the slight difference. Also, it appears that Woodturner PRO has one more saw kerf than Segment PRO which accounts for the difference in Board Length. I also cross checked them both with other online calculators.

I have moved this build into production. Here is the link:

My last college trig class was 55 years ago, so you are definitely more smarter than I am.;) It prints on one page and looks good.

I've never had a trig course or a computer class so what do I do? I start a company that writes trigonometry software. So now I'm going back to learn what I should have learned 45 years ago.
Talk about the cart before the horse.

Don't pain too much, you're still my go to guru. Great job on this, I still say it's a quantum leap for segmenting.

I told him to take a break and leave town. I leave on Wednesday.

While on a train in Norway last year, a sweet lady, Christina Kobb, sat with us and we struck an immediate friendship. She said she was preparing for an opportunity to play a concert at Carnegie Hall in March 2017. We met with her the next day in Bergen where she became our personal tour guide and we found a piano store where she gave us an amazing mini concert. She had a Kickstarter fund to raise money for the trip but it had just a few days to go and a fair amount to raise. So we rallied some of our musical friends and helped to put her over the top.

So we get front row seats to hear her perform next week. After that she goes to Duke University for a performance and presentation to their music department. She is then going to fly to Portland where she is going to spend a week with a few of us here. We've arranged for her to play a concert here and so our chance encounter has been a great thing for all of us.
