Tom,
After re-reading your post, it looks like you are referencing the SketchUp tutorial on visualizing the Eagle design in a real-world scenario. When I made that tutorial, I had not started Segment PRO. One of my objectives in writing it was to allow segments to be displayed with designs on feature rings that would accurately show what the segment would look like on both the outside and inside of the bowl and, fortunately, I was able to accomplish that just as I had hoped.
So now you simply need to create the design in Lamination PRO at a size that matches the Segment Edge Length from Segment PRO to the width of the Repeating Unit in Lamination PRO and set the height of the feature ring in Segment PRO to the height of the Export Region of Lamination PRO and the design of the segment in Lamination PRO is now exactly correct. You then simply export the clipping region as a species to Segment PRO and add it to your palette. When you now look at the bowl, what you see in both the inside and outside of the bowl will be exactly what you will see after turning the bowl.
It is fun to do this in SketchUp and it builds good skills, but it takes a long time to do and conquering a steep learning curve so I'm glad that this is no longer necessary, thanks to Segment PRO.
