PRE RELEASE NOTES! PLEASE READ!!

I loaded build 1.1001 this morning and have been working all morning trying to get if to cooperate. If no one else is having problems I'm obviously doing something really wrong.
1. Cain't make feature ring stay at specified thickness. It will change from specified to 1.5 at random.
2. Segment calculation may say same as on storyboard but be half of on summery and on bowl view.
3. Top row showing on storyboard but missing on bowl view and summery.
Guys y'all let me know if I'm the problem or if possibly there is still a bug or two still hiding in there.

I had everything working fine and then had to make some pretty significant changes and I probably broke some things that were fixed.
Now that I've got some time, I'll go look at these things and should be able to quickly see the issues you see and fix them.

If you have any specifics, please let me know. That will help me get to the issue more quickly.

Certainly no apology necessary to me. I wouldn't even mention it except I never know if there is something wrong
or just my ignorance, so don't stress on my account.
I'll just wait for another update or if you think it's just me or my laptop please help me past it.

Please don't ever see an error and not report it. I have an obligation to my customers to make bug free software. Sometimes it is harder than other times and this one is just very difficult because it involves code that is in a number of different places and keeping it all straight is a challenge.

However, I believe I have fixed the issues with the controls changing after saving the the plan and as far as I can see now, everything is working correctly. But I did not see a problem with the Summary Page and have to run now so can you let me know if you see any issues at all? At this point, if anything is left, it will be simple to fix.

Thanks for your understanding and in helping me make this software as bug-free as possible.

In bowl view if you change palette and then go to either storyboard or paint the palette and the name change to what it was changed to in bowl view. Same for storyboard. In paint if you change palette and then go back to bowl view, the palette is changed however the name does not change

I also downloaded and installed version 1.1001. The software will not start. The previous version of Segment Pro was working and nothing has changed other than installing the upgrade. I am using Windows 10 and when I click on the shortcut (or the application file) nothing happens. No screen no errors it just does not start. Is there a earlier build available so I can get back up and running?

As info tried version 1.1.002 and the no starting problem still persists in the Windows 10 environment. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and confirmed I am running the software as an administrator but no luck getting it to run.

Yes I have rebooted my machine. I have also uninstalled the software. Rebooted. Resinstalled. No change. I get no error or even a startup splash screen. The version I upgraded was 1.00.039 I believe. That build was working ok except for various bugs that I am sure have been addressed in the later builds. As info I work as a software engineer for a defense contractor so I am fairly literate when it comes to software. My guess is that some key in the registry this software needs to start is corrupt on this machine. I have seven other machines in my home so I will try it on another one and advise. My hardware configuration on this machine is pretty complex with two video cards and six monitors attached to it so it is not a standard machine.

As I said in my reply to Stuart I suspect a registry key might be corrupt on this machine that it needs to start. I can always do a restore on this machine to a point before I did the upgrade if needed.

To update the situation. I restored my Windows 10 Machine to a point before upgrading Segment Pro. It took me back to build 1.00.39 and it started and worked. Upgraded again to 1.1.002 and same issue (no start, no splash screen) persists.

Restored machine back to before attempted upgrade to 1.1.002 again. Build 1.00.39 works again. Possibly i need some incremental upgrades to get to the latest version. That is often a corner case that gets missed in software development since the developer assumes everyone is updating to each released version as they are released. Then somebody doesn't and it breaks.
 
Virgil, I have backups pretty much from the beginning.
Well if you have links to the updates as they were release I am certainly happy to give it a try and at least we can find where it starts to fail. I think that would be valuable information.
 
Just wanted to share what great support I received from Bob Beaupre. The issue I was having after upgrading Segment Pro from an earlier version to the current version in Windows 10 turned out to be from trying to jump too many versions. Bob helped me incrementally upgrade the software up to the current version and now it works fine. While theoretically you should be able to jump a bunch of versions with the latest update in practice at least in my computing environment it did not work. This is not uncommon. Moral of the story is to keep your software updated with each new release. Again I want to thank Bob for staying up late last night (I'm in Arizona and he is in Wisconsin) and getting me the past builds so I could update to the current build. First rate support and a great guy.
