• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

03 - Painted Segment Bowls in Segment PRO

One of the coolest features of Segment PRO is the ability to paint segments on a Painted Segment Bowl. This is the first automated process for painting segments based on a rectangular grid built from the number of rows times the number of segments. Of special interest is the Diamond Stamp Pad that will make painting designs such as Petal patterns fast and easy.

I have been through all the tutorials once (not enough for me I am a slow learner). I installed and spent about an hour playing around. I must say I am very impressed. I am a retired programmer so I can appreciate the effort put into this project. Congratulations.

This is great for painting the bowl Lloyd, but often I will use the paint map for assembling the rings on top of one another - I don't see any way to print the paint map in your program. Any way for me to do that?

Johnrheyd, You need to do a print screen. Then open up Microsoft Paint and paste it into paint. Then you can print it

I could programmatically do a PtrScr but my print options are very limited. If you do the print screen, you can paste into any graphics program where you can have an extensive number of print options so this is one time where not doing something is a way to give you a lot more options.

OK that works for me Lloyd, but one more question. When I try to print the summary page for cutting list, if I have more then about 30 rings(rows) the print screen cuts off the last or bottom row. For example if you go to Lomans bowl design and open the summary, you'll see in the print review that the bottom row of print is cut in half. I don't see anyway to adjust the print parameters to allow me to customize my print size, like you might do in excel. Is it possible to export the summary to excel?

I'm pretty close to having the new printing solution done and it uses a completely new method of creating the output and I don't believe that issue will still be there. It's kinda kicking my butt right now, though, in that I'm trying to make it default to Landscape and I'm obviously doing something wrong. I hope to have this figured out this week, though, and then go through my testing protocol so that I can upload it.
Once it is done, I believe I will also be able to add the ability to save it either as a .csv file or an .xls file. I'm going to release the printing solution first and then work on the data export.

hi Lloyd, any news on adding the feature to paint segments on a feature ring bowl, this is all that makes me go to woodturner pro and no segment pro when designing vessels.

This will be a rather large change in the software since it is a big departure from how the bowl is currently built in Segment PRO. I am committed to making the change, but it will have to wait until I return from Australia and New Zealand in May where I'll be meeting with some down under WTP users.

Lloyd I have a bowl like that all ready to go.
I have it in storyboard in default background of course but with a feature ring and then in paint I have it painted with brown rows as place holders for the feature ring

ok no worries, thank you for the reply Lloyd, i look forward to this feature maybe later in the year then. Sounds like your in for a great trip First

Is there any way to change the thickness of a single row in the painted segment bowls? For example make row four 1.5 inches while the rest are an inch. Probably related to adding feature rings in painted segment bowls but I thought I would ask.

Lloyd can correct me if I am wrong. but no you cannot. What you want to do can be done in WTP.

Thank you. Didn't think so but I thought I would ask. I have lamination pro and segment pro but not woodturner pro.

This would be a wonderful addition to your software. How soon is this available?
