Thanks. And what I really like about it is that there hasn't been one security issue since I brought it online. The last one had attacks every week. I'm really looking forward to doing a lot more with it. As you may have read, I'll be releasing a completely new piece of software in a couple months and hope to have a tie-in from it to the forum/gallery.
I'll be making a post in a week or so that will give you an idea of what to expect. Here is what I can tell you - my 5-4-3 pledge: 5 seconds, 4 mouse clicks = 3 bowls. In this new approach, the computer will do all the mundane things for you. You will still have almost unlimited ability to make changes but you'll be amazed at how easy it will be. No more switching between programs or even between screens. With single keystrokes you can change almost anything about the bowls.
My target is to allow you to create 95% of the segmented bowls that are made every day but not 96% - ever. To go above 95%, the software has to become more complex and the user interface needs to be come more difficult and although I am capable of doing all those things, the purpose of the software is to make it usable by anyone the very first time you sit down to use it. So above 95%, new features makes the software worse, not better.
In my 25 years of designing software, I've never been as excited about a software title as I am about this one. It's all 3D, database driven and as soon as I'm done with this initial PC version, I'll start working on a similar native Mac version. I also intend to have mobile device support - not for generating plans but rather to let you view the details you made on your desktop computer (cutting summary, ring views, etc) on your iPad or Droid so that you don't have to print out reams of paper.
I'm not prepared yet to talk about pricing, but to any prospective customer that reads this, it will be given free to anyone purchasing the current Woodturner's Suite after July 1st of this year. There will also be introductory pricing for the early adopters. My goal, as always, is to keep the pricing at a place where everyone will be happy with their purchase.
