The Australian Woodturning Exhibition is an annual event that takes place every June. It is the premier event for woodturners from around Australia. The exhibition is open to all classes of woodturners: students, novice, intermediate and open. There are around 15 categories that you can enter from bowls, to hollow vessels, lidded containers, ornamental turning and wood art just to name a few. The aim of the event is to promote wood turning, further the skill and encourage both young and old to participate in a craft that has become an art form. Closing date for entries is 20th May, 2016 and the exhibition will open 17-19 June 2016 at the Waratah Rooms, The Whitehorse Centre, 397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading.
 
That sure looks like it would be a great event to attend. I hope to get to Australia next year but am not sure it will fit our calendar.

Since segmented woodturning has become so popular in Australia, though, I have plenty of reasons to go more often.
