• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Vertical spacer?

I am working on my first open segment bowl. Just finished a small closed segment, my very first bowl. I see in Woodturner pro that when I add a open segment it adds a "Vertical Spacer". What is it and what am I supposed to do. New to forum and looking forward to future projects.

hi steve welcome to the forum the software is designed to work with seg easy open segment plate you can buy from here http://www.segeasy.com, using these jigs is by far the easiest way to make open segmented vessels/ bowls/ turnings. There are other ways to do it but they take far more time to achieve the same results

Steve,

When viewing an open segment ring type, the Vertical Spacer calculation simply shows you how wide the gap is. This is automatically calculated for you if the box is checked in front of the line on the right of the screen that says 'Open segments are <4> degrees'. If you uncheck that box, you can then specify the width of the gap that you want and it can be different for each row.

Also in following up to Martyn's post, if you buy the SegEasy plates from me, the center hole is sized to fit my Stomper. I resell these plates for Jerry and they are priced identical to those on his site. Here is my link for additional options:

Thanks Lloyd and Martyn. Now the vertical spacer makes sense. I did by the Stomper system from you and have used it for my first ever bowls. First was a closed segment and the second I am just finishing the open segment bowl. Definately making mistakes and learning but nothing has blown up yet.
