Wrong Print color

Using woodturner pro v 3.1 Printing is giving a green color for maple segments. Other woods seem OK. I have checked the Inks for my printer everything seems OK there. Have you had any problems with this? I have to admit I haven been using the program too much in the past year, so I may have missed out on some support issues.

It sounds like you might be using a Custom species which you can add by going File > Options > Custom Species. When you add a custom species, the software has no idea what you added and so it defaults to a green color for the Cutaway and Ring View. If you go to the Custom Species, dialog box, it will show you what species have been created.

The default species were programmed in Woodturner PRO to display a color that matches the image. I did not add this functionality to the Custom Species purely for cost reasons. I'll add it to a feature request for an upgrade I hope to do later this year. It might be easier for me to programatically average the pixels to determine the predominate color and this should now be possible.

In the meantime, stick with default species if you need to have the Ring View show species colors more correctly.

Make sure that you are using build 3.1.009. Click Help > About Woodturner PRO or start the software as either of these will show you a splash screen with the build you are using. If you are not on 009, click the Downloads link in the Main Menu and download and install that version. You do not need to uninstall a v3.x version first.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't used a custom wood type. The maple I am using is from the drop down list of default colors.
