I am fairly new at this so Maybe I am looking at something wrong,I am thinking of making Kevins round bowl and when i look at the printout of ring #4 it shows the segmented edge length 1-13/32 and the economy board length of 11-23/32 that looks wrong to me am I looking at this printout wrong. My Mistake I was not Thinking right its fine I just wasn't Thinking of the economy board length right sorry bout that.

Hello Ed,

I see you already answered your question. I designed the bowl and was thinking about my answer when I noticed you beat me to it. Just in case somebody else wonders how 12 pieces, with 1-13/32" segmented edge length, can be cut from a 11-23/32" board....just remember the segments are pie-shaped. The board is flipped after every segment is cut off, so the wide segment edges are on opposite sides of the board. So, if the segments came to a point, the board length would only need to be a bit longer than six times the segmented edge length, not twelve times the segment edge length for a 12-segment ring.
