• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Hi Gary,

To paint a single segment, multiple segments or complete row of segments, you can create a Custom Segment that is simply an image (jpg, gif or bmp) of any size. All you need to do is take a picture of one segment and then use a graphics program such as Irfanview (a free image editor you can download from IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide) to crop it to the segment size and then use it to create the custom species. Once you have the image copied to your PC, go to Woodturner PRO and click File > Options and you'll see the Custom Species dialog box. Take these steps:

1. From File > Options, click the New Custom Species button
2. Enter the name for your new custom species.
3. Click the 'Bitmap image' radio button
4. Click the browse button at the end of the 'Path' field and browse to your image file
5. Leave the width and height fields 1"
6. Click the 'Stretch to fit segment' box and click OK.

You've now added a new custom species and it will be permanently included in your list of species. You can return to File > Option and manage your custom species whenever you like.

If you create an image that is exactly 3/4" high and 1.75" wide (for example), you can enter that width and height and uncheck the stretch button and the segment will be painted with the exact size you entered. The segment will only look correct if it is the same height and width of the image. This is a visual way to make sure that your segment size is correct.

Here is a link to a 3-part tutorial that uses a custom species. The second video contains the instructions I've shown above.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
Lloyd
