I made my version of longworth chuck of etyleen plast on my Rose Engine. Lathes axle was locked and the plate was turned by hand around a screw, cutter is on xy-vice and can be adjusted in horisontal planes. Much easier and precise as with a router! After cutting the groove the plate was turned 90 degrees and the nut on screw was locked and second groove routed.

I have no spring, the shaft is of 20 mm steel rod and it can be adjusted and locked with a setscrew under.
Weights are from bodybuilders weights, 2,5...10 kg.
