Brand new and just started desiging a bowl today. Was wondering 1rst: How do you do an every other wood type in an accent ring? I have a 12 segment center ring that when I input a single segment with a different species wood it applied it to only 4 pieces and I would like to change that to 6 (every other).
2nd: Can someone explain what the two controls in the upper right do (open segments are...) & (paint repeats per row)?

These may be silly, I don't know...but like I said I'm about as new to this as you can get.
Thank you for your help, it is REALLY appreciated!

On the right hand side of the of the WTP window there is a "Paint repeats per row. You can either use the up/down arrow to change the number for repeating or click in the box that contains the number and enter the number of repeats you want.
Make sure the Paint per row is checked. if it is unchecked the repeat function is disabled.

Go the ring you want painted. click on a segment so a red outline is showing the segment is selected. Right click and a species list box will appear.
select the species you want, and it will be repeated in that ring by the number you set.

the open segment is setting the degree spacing for open segment rings. It will only applies for open segment rings.
These two threads may be of interest to you.
