I’m having two problems in Segmented Pro which I don’t understand. First, picked one of the Greek vessel profiles, changed the diameter using the less button, clicked the intermediate button and it uses 16 segments which is what I wanted. Changed the ring thickness to 0.75. When I click rings it asks to create file name, ok no problem, I name test and when I click save, I get error popup (see attached).
- The ring view is for painted segment bowl or tornado bowl. The ring view option creates a pdf file of each ring showing the segment layout pattern for each ring.
- It is not available when using the featured ring, beginner, intermediate or expert selection UNLESS you go to PAINT and paint some segments before selecting RING
- You have to paint a design for you to get the ring view option to work or select TORNADO BOWL,
A pop up window will ask for you to name the pdf file. it will be stored in a My Segment Pro/Ring view folder.
- Start SP, pull up the profile you want.
- In Bowl settings select Painted Segments, Set the segments to 16 in the segment box, set row thickness to 0.75 in row thickness, use the decrease diameter.
- save the File if you want at this time using the SAVE Plan in the Bowl Setting box
or
- you can go to Rings and create the ring view pdf file before saving the Plan file.
The other problem is many times I pick a profile and make same or similar changes as described in first problem, I click rings and it says something like can’t use rings for feature ring except I don’t have any, the feature ring button was never selected, painted is but I didn’t paint anything either. It is a very simple closed form bowl.
As stated above the RING option only produces a pdf file of each ring showing the layout of the different segment species.
It is used only for Painted or Tornado Bowl option.
In the Painted Option you must paint a ring so it has at least two different species for the ring.
