Yes, I get and understand all that. It tells me that the plan was saved successfully. I open My Documents, then My Segment pro, and there they are, as you said. I click on the .json file to open it, and I get a pop-up that asks me what program I want to use to open said file. What I generally do is to start Segment Pro (SP).
In SP go to Share / Import.
the default folder is my segment pro. (if that is not where the file is, go to that folder and highlight the file
click on open.
You should get a message that either the plan or the profile was successfully imported.
Go to plan, select the file to open.
This is what I did and the steps I took. I was reading a thread, they had a .json file posted, so I clicked it, saved it, which it did as a .json file. Said file saved successfully. As soon as I save it, the drop-down box asks me what program I want to use to open file, only SP isn't listed.I have never opened a SP file by clicking on it. I always open the plan or profile within SP. That is, start SP, pull up plan, select it and it opens.
I take it you can find the plan within SP and it opens, right?
Windows.Alan:
When you said "file saved" was that windows saying the file was saved or was it SP saying the file was saved?
Again, json files must be imported into SP to be able to use. That is done under the Share function.
Files found this forum you would:
- save file to your pc.
- Start Segment Pro
- In SP go to Share / Import
- In import go to where the file was saved, select it.
- The plan should show up in the plan list within SP.
Windows.
I have tried again. Open the .json file, 2024-7-12-18-39-26.json, it saves it to Windows. If I try to open it from there, it wants me to choose a program. I close that drop-down box. I open SP, go to Share/Import, click on the file I want to open, it says "Plan imported successfully".
Now when I go to Plans, or even Profiles, it is nowhere to be found. I have shut down SP, reopened it, it is still not there.
Will the file name, in this case, 2024-7-12-18-39-26.json, stay named this? If that is the case, it is not in either SP Plans or Profiles.
I have tried that several times.Alan.
Try this:
Start SP
Go to Share / Import
select 2024-7-12-18-39-26.json from the SP import menu
You need to bring in the json file from within a running SP by using the Share / Import.
also, where did you find the 2024-7-12-18-39-26.json file on the Forum? I would like to download it and see if I have an issue bringing it into SI
